The Spieker Company was honored to serve as General Contractor for this meaningful project supporting the Sunshine Community and the individuals and families they serve. From initial budgeting through final completion, Spieker provided comprehensive project oversight and coordinated all subcontractors to bring the vision to life.
The project included extensive site improvements and renovations designed to create a welcoming, functional, and lasting environment. Work began with demolition throughout the site, including existing sidewalks, structures, planters, trees, and other site elements. Spieker completed the earthwork, stormwater improvements, and hydroseeding of disturbed areas, along with new fencing surrounding the playground.
A key feature of the project is the custom memorial garden, thoughtfully designed as a peaceful and meaningful space for reflection. Improvements included concrete curbs and sidewalks, brick and stonework, a memorial brick curb, landscaping, an ashes garden, and a custom water feature and fountain that serve as focal points within the garden.
Additional improvements included renovation of the existing shelter, electrical work, and extensive landscaping throughout the property. Together, these improvements create a cohesive outdoor environment that reflects the heart of Sunshine’s mission while providing a beautiful, accessible space for the community to gather, remember, and connect.
