Building Companies for Your Commercial Needs
LIKE THE STRUCTURES AND EXCLUSIVE HOMES IT HAS BUILT SINCE 1888, SPIEKER GENERAL CONTRACTORS IS A TOLEDO ICON.
- Henry J. Spieker founded his contracting and construction company in 1888 with this cornerstone: business is best done on a handshake and being true to one's word. As noted in an early written account, the company was built on the bedrock of
"respect our country, our profession and ourselves, to be honest and fair with our fellow men, as we respect them to be honest and" – evoking a term popular at the time of the firm’s founding – "square with us. So we may be courteous to men, faithful to friends, true to God, a fragrance in the paths we tread."
- Such has been the moral, ethical, and professional compass that has guided Spieker General Contractors for more than 132 years, from its original home at Elm and Utica Streets in Toledo to its present expansive headquarters on Tracy Road in Northwood, Ohio.
