The new 150,000 square foot, 426- bed Bowling Green State University Greek Village is the home for 33 sororities and fraternities at Bowling Green State University. Continuing the university’s longstanding commitment to campus Greek life, the 33 townhouses were designed with a variety of floor plans including homes with four, 12, and 18 beds. The Spieker Company performed the rough/finish carpentry and siding installation for this project.
During Earth Week, Bowling Green State University learned that the Greek Village, a $32.7 million Greek housing project which opened at the beginning of Fall 2016, received the LEED for Homes Gold certification from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). LEED, which stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is a rating system devised by the council to evaluate the environmental performance of a building and encourage market transformation toward sustainable design. The Greek Village is the sixth LEED-certified structure at BGSU. Each of the 33 Greek housing residences was constructed using sustainable construction practices and materials with the intention of operating efficiently.
